8th Grade Algebra 1

 

Woods Charter School is proud to offer Algebra I to advanced 8th grade students. In order to enroll in Algebra I in the 8th grade, the student must meet the following requirements:

  • Successfully complete Pre-Algebra in the 7th grade and/or have specific instructor permission
  • Achieve the Algebra I benchmark achievement level on the End of Grade test for 7th grade mathematics
  • Have an A or B average in 7th grade mathematics.

Algebra I is a high school credited course that concludes with both an End of Course Exam and an End of Grade Exam. Taking Algebra I in 8th grade is a privilege reserved for hard working and motivated students who are interested in mathematics. Many students benefit from outside tutoring help in the subject. The pacing and work load of Algebra I is that of a high school class and requires both dedication and maturity for success.
