Grading Policy
Trimester Grades will be calculated as follows:
Tests & Major Projects - 40%
Tests will be given at the conclusion of each chapter, and students will be given timely notice of the test date in order to prepare. Tests may contain cummulative material.
Quizzes & Programs - 30%
Short quizzes will be given regularly to assess cummulative and current material. Some will be announced, and others will be un-announced. Programming assignments will make up a majority of our class work. Many students are able to complete programs in the class time allotted, but at times students may need to work outside of class to complete programs.
Homework - 30%
Homework is assigned to extend our classroom, provide extra practice, and is expected to be completed for the day it is assigned. Late work is only eligible for up to a 50% and will not be accepted after the chapter has ended. Coming to class prepared with a notebook, pencil, and textbook is also expected and may be counted as a classwork grade.
Final Grades will be calculated as follows:
Trimester 1: 25%
Trimester 2: 25%
Trimester 3: 25%
Midterm: 10%
Final: 15%
