Jenny Johnston

Welcome!

This is my fourth year on staff in the EC department here at Woods Charter School.  I was drawn here both as a parent (I have children in the 3^rd, 5^th and 7^th grades) and as a teacher for a number of reasons, including the inclusive community atmosphere, the vibrant Core Knowledge curriculum, and maybe even a little bit  for the sheer "funkiness" of our original shopping center space.  I am proud to be a part of this caring and professional staff and  I look forward to helping your children achieve a successful  academic year.

A little about me...I hold a BA in Business from Park College and a BS in Elementary Education from NC Central University.  I completed my Special Education coursework through UNC system graduate schools.  I came to teaching after a variety of experiences that included IT and telecommunications support (back in the day of mainframe computers), stints in the US Army as a Czech linguist and a pharmacy technician, and volunteer firefighting here in Chatham County.

Parent-teacher interaction is an important part of your child's educational experience.  I welcome your questions can be reached by phone or email.
