Kirstin Morrison

This is my third year at Woods Charter School.  I love the students and faculty that help to make Woods such an outstanding community to learn and grow in.

I come to Woods with my Masters in Computer Science from UNC.  I also hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Wheeling Jesuit University, along with minors in Mathematics, Physics, and Psychology.  I completed my teaching certificate through the NCTeach lateral entry program at UNC during my first and second years teaching at Woods.  I moved to North Carolina four years ago from Pittsburgh, PA, and fell in love with the state.  My work experiences with Duke TIP, the Regional Math/Science Center, NASA, and NSF allow me to bring an array of real-world experiences to the classroom.  It is my primary goal as an educator to help each child succeed and have confidence in his/her ability.

I live in Holly Springs, NC, with my husband and two children (cats), Simba and Autumn.  Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, crafts, being outdoors, reading, and playing with my kitties.  I am a Tar Heel fan, and especially love basketball season!
