  • Congratulations to Hoshi Hilton (grade 11) for winning the 2010 Uplifting a Diverse World: Make Our Space a Better Place Student Essay Competition, sponsored by the Chatham County Office of Human Relations and the Chatham County Human Relations Commission (CCHRC). The student essay competition was designed for elementary, middle, and high school students and was intended to:

  • Please visit the Briar Chapel Website listed below to read about the results of the Sustainability in Education contest along with pictures and descriptions of the winning entries. The winner in the elementary division was Emma Landford with Ben Carter as runner-up. The middle school winning team consisted of Danny and Kevin Johnston with runner-ups Mia Kaplan, Claire Day and Clara Hilton. High School winning team was Nik and Luke Krenitsky.

  • Thank you again to everyone who contributed to this year's Worldwide Cafe!! Everyone who volunteered their time to help the day of, took class time to prepare decorations and entertainment, made food, and attended the cafe made the day a success for the kids! In addition, because of your generosity and support we raised $1,104 to send to Haiti through the Red Cross!!!

  • Looking for a new way to contribute to Woods? Donate your used ink cartridges. We have set up a box outside the front office to drop off your used cartridges. Woods will then use the credit toward school supplies needs. Thank you!
  • National Geography Bee Update

  • Congratulations again to Matthew Kornberg, 8th grader at Woods for qualifying for the State Level Geography Bee Contest which takes place April 9th in Lenoir, NC. The winner will advance to the US Final Competition in Washington; all expenses paid for 2 days in May. Best of luck Matt!

  • Congratulations to the Woods Charter School Debate and Speech team for their performance at the Southview High School Tournament this weekend. Alston Neville and Jillian Stein-Seroussi went 3-1 and finished 6th overall against varsity competition. At their first tournament ever, Zach Staley and Ricardo Hernandez did exceptionally well despite facing one of the top varsity teams in the State in their very first debate.
